Abstract
To achieve clear imaging in complex background and low contrast environment, an 8 ~ 14 μm VOX uncooled infrared polarimetric sensor with the center distance of 17 μm and the array size of 640×512 were fabricated. At room temperature, the NETD and NeDoLP of the sensor reached 45.6 mK and 0.32 %, respectively. To suppress the noise caused by Angle mutation, phase compensation was carried out on the polarization angle signal. Road detection and small target recognition were also shown for scenarios in which polarization contrast remains high during periods of low thermal contrast. Such applications pave way for military applications such as detection of hidden targets, vehicle driving assistance and individual combat.
