Abstract

The present concern for the so called nonionizing radiations arises partly from the proliferation of man made devices that emit electromagnetic energy in the ultraviolet, visible, infrared, radiofrequency and microwave portions of the electromagnetic spectrum. A detailed enumeration of these sources is unnecessary other than to say that they range from UV-emitting lamps to high intensity light sources, including lasers, to a wide variety of heating and communications devices.
