Abstract
In numerical and field experiments, a wind profiling algorithm based on analysis of a mutual correlation of turbulent fluctuations of the energy centroids of binocular video images of remote incoherent sources was tested. It is shown that by selecting the configuration of the relative position of sources and receiver lenses it is possible to achieve the formation of a stable correlation function with a maximum shifted relative to zero delay. The magnitude and direction of the shift are consistent with the velocity and direction of the turbulent flow in the corresponding part of the optical path.
