Vanadium pentoxide (V2O5) film has thermal sensitive, gas sensitive, electrochromic and thermochromic. It is a common
and easy to process material. The thin film samples of vanadium oxide were prepared by sol-gel method in this paper.
The flocculation precipitation in the precursor is amorphous V2O5, which has no effect on the film thickness after
filtration. The surface defects of the film were reduced by means of lamination and spin coating. The relationship
between the flatness of vanadium oxide and the improvement of electrochromic performance is analyzed. The cyclic
stability of vanadium pentoxide films was improved by 10% using polymer tetrabutylammonium perchlorate as
supporting electrolyte. Tetrabutylammonium tribromide only increases the cyclic stability of the films by 2.3% due to the
instability of the Br-.
