Abstract
With the rapid development of urbanization and the continuous growth of people's demand for better life quality in China, building energy consumption has shown a significant growth trend. The problem of energy shortage is becoming more and more serious. Keeping abreast of the developing building energy consumption and building accurate and convenient building energy consumption models is one of the critical approaches to settle the current energy shortage predicament. In this research, the development trend and characteristics of building energy consumption in China are introduced. The recent research progress of building energy consumption is recommended, and the main obstacles of building energy consumption research in China are analyzed. Moreover, the principles of building energy consumption models and their applicability and characteristics are summarized. The new technologies of building energy consumption at current are elucidated. Last, references and suggestions for improving the research methods and modeling technology of making energy consumption are provided.
