Abstract
For the characteristics of the flexible DC line with fast rising fault current and difficult to open and close, An effective choice of protection scheme is ultra-high speed traveling wave protection. Analysis and simulation of fault traveling wave is an important prerequisite to determine the setting of various traveling wave protections. In this paper, based on the actual system parameters of the ±400kV Rudong offshore wind power flexible DC transmission project, a simulation model is built in PSCAD to imitate normal conditions and fault, and the fault traveling waves in the simulation results are analyzd.
