Abstract
In order to solve the mechanical error caused by manual rotation of LCVR in polarization imaging system and to obtain high spatial resolution of images, a liquid crystal based continuous spectral tuning technique is proposed in this paper. By studying the electronically controlled birefringence effect of liquid crystal, adjusting the thickness of delay slide and applying voltage field to the liquid crystal box, the electronically controlled birefringence phenomenon can be generated to change the refractive index difference of o light and e light. The phase difference between the two is modulated by the control voltage to realize the output of different wavelengths. The continuous tuning technique of liquid crystal is applied to the tuning method of spectral band. The improved tuning technique can improve the quality of the obtained images from the experimental data.
