Abstract
The effect of different doses of (gamma) -, proton and electron radiation on optical properties and laser damage threshold of nonlinear optics crystals KH2PO4, KH2xD2(1-x)PO4 was studied in the present paper. The samples were irradiated at room temperature along the crystallographic direction. It was found that radiation damage in these crystals has an identical character. Irrespective of the type of radiation the strongest changes occur in the UV part of the absorption spectrum where stripes of radiation - stimulated coloration appear. The originating in crystals radiation - stimulated defects were found to result in the change of laser damage threshold.
