A standard of power unit intended for protection and transfer of a unit value to measuring instruments operating at 10.6 micrometers wavelength and 1 kW power level is presented in the paper. A scheme of the standard, a principle of reproducibility and transfer of power unit value, and basic metrological characteristics are also shown.
