Abstract
The coefficient of variation (CV )[1] and the ratio of arithmetic to geometric mean( A/G )[2] are two methods of heterogeneity measurement for SAR image, they are widely used in SAR image processing. Lopes pointed out that the behavior of the traditional adaptive filter (Lee[3], Frost[4], etc) using for speckle was under the control of the coefficient of variation in essence, and Lopes also deduced the enhanced adaptive filter algorithm. The filter algorithm for speckle based on the A/G is immature. In this paper, A/G is used to replace the coefficient of variation and applied into the enhanced adaptive filters. The novel class of adaptive filters, which are based on A/G and are designed for speckle, are proposed. Through simulation, we verify the effectiveness and superiority of the novel class filters.
