Abstract
In this paper, we consider the use of cooperative communications for broadcast wireless networks where the signal transmitted from a source node is relayed by a relay to the destination users, which are distributed within a circular area. The objective of this paper is, given the available resources, to properly determine the position of the relay so that the worst-case outage probability performance within the service area is minimized. The problem is solved through the use of semidefinite relaxation.
