Incoherent-to-coherent converters using an induced self- pumped phase conjugator and using a mutually pumped phase conjuga- tor are demonstrated in a Ba1_xSrxTiO3 crystal. Resolution of 28 line pairs/mm has been obtained for the two incoherent-to-coherent converters. An notable advantage for the latter converter is that the converted image with amplified intensity can be obtained easily. © 2000 Society of Photo-Optical Instrumentation Engineers.
