1 October 2002 Dual purpose two-way optics for multimedia communication

A novel integrated intelligent pixel processor that combines the reception and transmission of video signals is a key component for future mobile communication systems. Such a processor requires an optical interface capable of simultaneous formation of real and virtual images. A composite lens system capable of such dual imaging is described.
