Profile Summary

Siavash Mazdeyasna earned a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Kentucky (UK) in 2020. He then held a postdoctoral position at UK from 2020 to 2021. Siavash began his work at the FDA as a postdoctoral ORISE fellow from 2021 to 2024. Since January 2024, he has served as a senior staff fellow at the FDA/CDRH/OSEL/DBP. Siavash specializes in optical diagnostic measurements and research collaboration. His work includes developing cutting-edge noninvasive optical systems for 3D imaging of blood flow distributions in large/deep tissues in a noncontact manner; advancing methods for evaluating the accuracy of infrared thermographs (IRTs) in measuring elevated body temperature (EBT); and developing and optimizing standardized test methods to assess the performance of hyperspectral endoscopes (HySE). His work aims to enhance diagnostic technologies and ensure their effectiveness, reliability, and accuracy.
