Abstract
A new method for edge enhancement of image using polychromatic speckle is presented. By using the polychromatic speckle pattern as the carrier of an object function, the edge enhancemept of image has been realized. This technique is similar to that proposed by M.Francon. The generalization of polychromatic speckle has been discussed by many authors. In this article, we just want to point out that when a rough object is illuminated by broad band-limited light or even white light, a field of coloured speckle will exist near the surface of the object, or if an optical system is used, the coloured speckle will appear on the image plane.
