Abstract
The use of Linear Variable Filters (LVFs) has already been proposed as an alternative to other dispersion elements for imaging spectroscopy. The major advantage of these filters is their compactness. Basically, one filter put in front of an array detector allows recording a hyper spectral image in push-broom mode, which is a relatively inexpensive and compact design.
