Abstract
A head-mounted display (HMD) based on computer-generated holograms (CGH) is attracting attention as an ideal augmented reality (AR) technology. However, an HMD using CGH has the issues use of long calculation times and the need to design small optical systems with sensors, and no studies have been reported that perform calculations based on user’s attitude angles. Therefore, we propose an HMD system with a compact optical system with sensors that calculates CGHs fast based on the user’s attitude angle. In the proposed system, the object light is calculated in advance and the light wave is generated by phase compensation with the angle determined from the sensor values. As a result, each object light of the CGHs can be calculated in about 42ms.
