Abstract
An ultra-wideband (UWB) antenna with tri-notch is designed, which size is 22mm×31.5mm×1.6mm. The antenna operates in the bandwidth of 2.7 to 12GHz. The antenna radiation patch consists of rectangular, circular and triangular patches, and the ground plane is a rectangle etched with slots. By etching C-shaped slots and open-rectangular-ring(ORR) slots on the radiating patch and adding ORR parasitic resonators on the ground plane, triple-notch waves are generated, which can suppress three bands. C-band downlink frequency band (3.7 to 4.2 GHz) and WLAN frequency band (5.15 to 5.85 GHz), UNII-2c (5.47 to 5.725GHz), WLAN uplink band (5.725 to 5.825GHz), X-band downlink frequency band (7.25 to 7.75 GHz) have been suppressed effectively. The antenna has good omnidirectional properties in the UWB band. Simulation results show that the antenna can be used in UWB communication system.
