Abstract

In this paper mathematical relations which determine grating pitch have been derived for the case of a spherical wave according to the theory of the self‐imaging of the Talbot effect. These relation allow us to choose the proper parameter to give the desired pitch. Gratings of the desired pitch can be successfully obtained without aberration using a single experimental set‐up.
