Abstract
Look-up table adders with digit-by-digit access (symbolic substitution) and transfer to an auxiliary notation with inter-digit carriers being localized (modified signet-digit number representation) or absent (residue number system) are described. Look-up table adders and adders with spatial integration are compared. The field of application for both types of optoelectronic adders are defined and the efficiency of their integration within the hybrid optoelectronic computer is substantiated.
