Abstract
Research on broadband, multi-kilowatt millimeter wave gyro-TWT amplifiers operating at low beam power (< 300kW) is attractive for applications such as electronic warfare, radar, and communications. In order to achieve wideband rfamplification in gyro-devices, the waveguide is either tapered along the axial distance or loaded with disks or dielectric. TwoKa-band gyro-TWT amplifiers are considered; (1) a tapered rectangular waveguide and (2) a dielectric loaded rectangularwaveguide. A frequency multiplied harmonic interaction in tapered waveguide is also investigated for W-band rfamplification.
