The compound CuMnFeO4 was crystallized with cubic structure. Transport properties indicate that the compound is a p-type semiconductor. Magnetic properties indicate that the compound is ferrimagnetic and Mossbauer investigations indicate that Fe3+ ion is present at A as well as at B sites. The probable ionic configuration of the compound is Fe0.83+Cu0.22+[Fe0.23+Cu0.82+Mn0.83+Mn0.24+]O42-.
