Abstract
Automating of measurement has been a generally acknowledged need in application of SSNTD (Solid State Nuclear Track Detectors) techniques. The developments in digital image processing and microcomputer technology afford the opportunities of continuous improvement of the image-based analysis system for track measurement. The SSNTD techniques have found increasing applications. But automation of measurement especially that with image analysis technique is still a subject which remains to be developed. Then a project towards automation of track measurement was initiated in our group. As a result of this effort, a study on development of an automated image analysis system for nuclear track counting is presented in this report.
