Abstract
From the point of view of the engineering applications and designing, the basic technologies of a dual-band imaging system (3 - 5 micrometers , 8 - 14 micrometers ) can be researched in this paper. The difference of a ratio of the dual-band radiating energy in the different regions of temperature can be posed. The researching results indicate when the target and background exist in the different regions of a temperature, the distinguishing rules of a discriminating targets can be changed according to the contrast of its dual-band energy. This paper gives the calculating model by which the transition temperature can be calculated accurately in the various conditions and the relationship among the temperature, surface emissivity of target and background, ratio of a dual-band radiating energy etc. can be determined. The relation between S/N ratio and MRTD of a dual-band imaging system is discussed and analyzed in detail. The difference between single-band and dual-band imaging system described. The calculating and analyzing results show that S/N and MRTD of a dual-band imaging system is 5 - 10 times more than that of a single imaging system. The principle scheme to be realized is investigated. Finally the realizable method of a dual-band imaging fusion is researched technologically. By the dual band (3 - 5 micrometers , 8 - 14 micrometers ) detectors with the same focus plane and size, the processing and calculating complexity of a dual-band can be reduced. Analyzing the imaging characteristic, we pose that the fusion technology in level of pixel is realized using main-self fusion structure in a dual-band imaging system.
