Abstract
The comparison between geologic and radar sections shows the capability of radar to detect fractures (single or sets), karst cavities and joints of strata. Fractures are better visible when they have irregular geometry and are filled by clay or air. Sedimentary massive rocks produce lateral continuous reflections in good quality rocks and irregular reflections with diffraction hyperbolas -- in low quality sedimentary rocks. Often low quality rocks cause high attenuation of signal.
