Abstract
Three fundamental problems have prevented holograms from popular public display: lighting, space requirement, and alignment. For a sufficiently large hologram, the light source for reconstructing the image can become both a fire hazard as well as a cause of eye injuries. In the case of reflection hologram, the viewer cannot observe the image closely because the light source would be blocked. Furthermore, the relative positions of each hologram and its light source are unique. 'Edge-lit' holograms are limited in size because the aspect ratio of each system is constant. The display method present here resolves all the above problems.
