Abstract
A quantum dot longwave infrared photodetector with vertically integrated optical amplifier structure is presented. The optical gain of ~ 15dB can be achieved. Such integrated QDIP and optical amplifier structure is promising to improve the sensitivity of IR sensing and imaging systems.
