Abstract
The results of spectroscopy of disordered Tm-doped calcium-niobium- gallium garnets (CNGG) are displayed. Based on the Judd-Ofelt theory, three intensity parameters were obtained. Gain cross-section for laser transition 3F43H6 of Tm3+ ions was obtained using absorption and emission cross-data for transition 3H63F4 and 3F43H6 respectively. The laser emission is reported in Tm:CNGG (transition 3F43H6) at room temperature with laser diode pumping.
