The optical memory effects of the newly developed sol-gel gel-glass based thermochromic material are studied. Several fundamental material parameters, which contribute to the formation of two stable states in this substance are quantitatively measured. Simple writing and erasing methods along with the long term stability of each memory state are demonstrated.
