Given the pace of development in this most dynamic field, there is a continuing need for up-to-date, authoritative texts appropriate for advanced undergraduates, graduate students, and research and development practitioners. There has been a steady stream of books throughout the years aimed at satisfying this requirement, with varying degrees of success.
