I am Amit Kumar, a final-year Ph.D. student in the physical sciences department at IISER Mohali. I am working on laser beam wavefront shaping for biomedical imaging under the supervision of Dr. Samir K. Biswas. My research work primarily focuses on developing new laser beam wavefront-shaping algorithms and techniques for focusing light inside and through scattering media, both in 2D and 3D, and its use in developing the next-generation fluorescence microscope. Our research group has recently developed an advanced technique for complex structures 3D holography through scattering media, and a highly efficient optimization algorithm, featuring the development of regularized cost function in genetic algorithm for complex structure formation through scattering media. I am an active member of the SPIE community and currently serving as secretary of the SPIE CSIO Chandigarh student chapter. In addition to that, my research interest also includes focusing light deep inside the biological tissue, and its application in next-generation deep tissue microscopy, fluorescence imaging/microscopy, 3D holography/imaging, and light-sheet microscopy.
