David A. Sheikh is the founder and CEO of ZeCoat Corporation. While at ZeCoat Corporation, David has developed a new UV-enhanced protected silver coating for ground and space-based astronomy mirrors and instrumentation. He is currently working on new broadband coatings for FUV astronomy and silicon cladding for lightweight mirrors. In 2014, he developed the thermal control coating applied to the seismometer cover for the NASA InSight mission to Mars.
Prior to ZeCoat Corporation, David A. Sheikh, was a Chief Technologist at Surface Optics Corporation (SOC). During his 11 years at SOC, he developed the silver coating for the Kepler Space Telescope, the solar rejection filter for the NuStar Space Telescope and the silver coating for the ISIS high-altitude airship.
