An improved modified approach to compute the inverse discrete cosine transform (IDCT) is proposed based on B. G. Lee
algorithm. We replace the multiplication operator in original B. G. Lee algorithm with addition and shift operators and
looking-up table to implement the fix-point computation. Due to the absence of the multiplication operator, this modified
algorithm will take less time to complete the same computation.
