Stefano Azzini is currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Physics of the University of Trento, Italy, in the NanoScience Laboratory led by Prof. Lorenzo Pavesi. He obtained his PhD in Physics in 2013 from the University of Pavia, Italy, under the supervision of Prof. Matteo Galli and Prof. Daniele Bajoni, working on nonlinear integrated classical and quantum photonics. After that, he spent 6 years as a post-doctoral researcher in France. In Lyon, he worked with Prof. J. Bellessa on Tamm plasmon structures. In Strasbourg, he was with the lab of Prof. T.W. Ebbesen and Dr. Cyriaque Genet, working on the coupling of 2D semiconductors with plasmonic nanostructures, optical forces and strong coupling effects on materials. He is an experimental optical physicist currently mainly active in integrated quantum photonics but always interested in strong light-matter interactions and optical chirality.
