Taking Xiamen as the research object, based on the monitoring data from 2014 to 2016 (3 years), observe the changes in atmospheric particulate matter (PMs) concentration and analyze its influence mechanism with meteorological factors (wind speed WS, temperature T, dew point temperature DPT, lowest cloud height HCC, sea level pressure SLP, relative humidity RH, etc.). The result shows that: (1) The concentration of atmospheric particulate matter in Xiamen is generally at a relatively low level, and the air quality is relatively good. From the perspective of different seasons, the lowest value of atmospheric particulate matter concentration occurs in summer, the highest value occurs in winter; the highest value of the day occurs late at night and early morning, and the lowest value occurs at Noon. In different seasons, different weather; different urban gradients, and so on; the diurnal variation shows different characteristics. (2) The concentration of PMs has a significant positive correlation with the concentration of other pollutants; a significant negative correlation with temperature, wind speed, minimum cloud height (cloud cover ≥70%), and dew point temperature; and a significant positive correlation with humidity and sea level pressure. In different seasons, the influence of weather factors on the variation of atmospheric particulate concentration, showed different results.
