Jorge Socas is a research working in Free Space Optical Communications at Institute of Astrophysics of the Canary Islands. He obtained the master telecommunication engineer in June 2000. His primary areas of interest are space and communications, focusing onto free-space optical communications, quantum communications and Quantum Key Distribution. Nowadays He is working on a Trasportable Optical Ground Station for QKD using adaptive optics.
