Dr. Dongok Ryu is a research scientist and optical engineer in the Satellite Payload R&D Division at the Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI). He plays a crucial role in designing, assembling, aligning, and evaluating the performance of numerous optical cameras developed or under development at KARI. Dr. Ryu's research interests include optical engineering, end-to-end modeling, and simulation for various applications, such as Earth remote sensing, planetary exploration, exoplanets, astronomy, and ophthalmic optics. He has authored or co-authored over 40 publications in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings, with a focus on these topics. Additionally, Dr. Ryu was invited to serve as a conference program committee member for SPIE's "Instruments, Methods, and Mission for Astrobiology" conference from 2010 to 2013.
