Profile Summary

I am a Ph.D. candidate in my fourth year within the Biomedical Engineering department at UMASS Amherst. My current research is being conducted at the Biophotonic Imaging Laboratory, located at UMASS Chan Medical School, under the guidance of Prof. Yu Chen. My primary areas of focus encompass Optical Imaging, Biophotonics, and Computational Biology. At present, my efforts are directed towards the advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) and deep learning models for health care improvements. These models are tailored to enhance our comprehension of microscopic characteristics found in Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) retinal images, specifically those related to Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD). Additionally, I am investigating the potential of utilizing Attention-based deep learning models to quantify tubule lumens, aiming to evaluate kidney viability prior to transplantation. Moreover, I am employing computational modeling of Diffuse Optical Spectroscopy (DOS) to establish optimal testing methodologies for optical devices, with a particular emphasis on addressing racial disparities.
