Dr. Sergey Sarkisov has more than 35 years of experience in research, education, and product and business development in the fields of nanotechnology, photonics, sensors, and lasers. He received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Kiev University (Ukraine) in Electrical Engineering and Physics in 1979 and 1986 respectively. He has authored and co-authored more than 210 technical publications (including 47 papers in peer review technical journals), three US, and seven foreign patents. Dr. Sarkisov has received the Rudolf Kingslake Medal and Prize of the International Society of Optical Engineering SPIE for his contribution in the field in 2006. For 12 years (since 1993) he worked as a research and teaching faculty at the Alabama A&M University teaching various courses in college and graduate physics. He has also completed more than a dozen of research projects sponsored by various US Government agencies with a total amount of funding close to $3M. Dr. Sarkisov has also served as an advisor to more than a dozen M.S. and Ph.D. graduates at Alabama A&M majoring in Applied Optics and Material Sciences. In April 2005 he founded high-tech start-up business SSS Optical Technologies, LLC (also doing business as Sarkitech Sensors) focused on commercialization of various advanced technologies related to renewable enery, nanophotonics, anti-counterfeit technologies, air quality monitors, ultra-bright light sources, and lasers. Dr. Sarkisov is currently holding the positions of the President, CEO, CTO, and Chief Scientist in the company.
